There was further good news on the jobs front for Galway yesterday (Wednesday) when Hewlett Packard Enterprise named Galway as its European hub for cyber security operations.

HID Global, a worldwide leader in trusted identity solutions, expects to open a centre of excellence in Galway this year. This will allow for full consolidation of business activities, including manufacturing operations, to the new facility in Mervue Business Park by end of 2022.

More than 200 jobs are to be created in Galway by a global technology company following the establishment of its European headquarters in the city.

Globalization Partners, which simplifies global business by enabling companies to hire and retain team members in 180+ countries without the complexity of setting up international branch offices or subsidiaries, last week announced plans to hire 25 technology positions immediately in Galway. These newly created positions include software engineers, technology leads, help centre support, DevOps engineers, UI/UX designers and many others to be located in the company’s Galway centre of operations.

Meissner Filtration Products announced yesterday that their new manufacturing facility in Mayo is operational. The new facility features a state of the art 930 m² (10,000 ft²) ISO class 7 cleanroom, dedicated to the manufacture of Single-Use Systems. Validation of the facility was completed in mid-April and the facility is currently manufacturing products for their biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical client base.

Boston Scientific Galway has officially opened a new facility at its Ballybrit site. The expansion facilitates increased capacity to support global product demand and also includes an industry-leading Equipment Technology Centre.
